Danny Kewson, MD, FAAOA

Education

Dr. Kewson completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and his internship in General Surgery at Wayne State University / Detroit Medical Center.  He received his medical degree from Wayne State University having completed his undergraduate education at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He has furthered his education to Fellowship status of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (FAAOA).

Professional Background

Dr. Kewson has been practicing in Southeast Michigan since 2004 and is founding partner of Southeast Michigan Ear Nose and Throat. He has published numerous research papers in the area of his specialty, and has received multiple awards for his research and clinical training. His training included time at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, the Karmanos Cancer Institute and Detroit Receiving Hospital offering high level tertiary care training in all aspects of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Interests

Dr. Kewson’s practice covers the full realm of adult and pediatric ear nose and throat disorders including conditions such as recurring ear infections, chronic tonsillitis, chronic sinusitis, snoring, sleep apnea, hearing loss, hoarseness, and dizziness. He has had extensive experience with adult and pediatric head and neck tumors including salivary gland, thyroid and parathyroid, and cancers of the aero-digestive tract. He serves on the head and neck tumor board at Oakwood and has received advanced training in computer assisted sinus surgery. He also has an interest in reconstruction following treatment of facial skin cancers.

Dr. Kewson is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, American Academy of Facial Plastics and Reconstructive surgery, and American Medical Association.
Dr. Kewson holds medical staff privileges at Oakwood Hospital Medical Center, the Detroit Medical Center, Providence Hospitals, Garden City Hospital and Great Lakes Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Roger S. Toma, M.D.

Interests

Dr Toma provides comprehensive treatment to adult and pediatric patients for a full range of ear, nose, and throat disorders including allergy and sinus disease, adenotonsillar disease, snoring, obstructive sleep apnea, medical and surgical treatment of voice disorders, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, head and neck cancer, and surgical treatment of parathyroid and thyroid disease.

Education and Professional Background

Dr Toma completed his residency training in Otolaryngology –Head and Neck Surgery at Wayne State University.  During his residency he trained at multiple hospitals including Karmanos Hospital, Childrens Hospital of Michigan, Detroit Receiving Hospital, William Beaumont Hospital, and Oakwood Hospital.  He obtained his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine.  Dr Toma obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State University.
Dr Toma also completed additional advanced training in TransOral Robotic Surgery and is one of the few otolaryngologists in the state of Michigan trained in the use of the DaVinci Surgical Robot.  Dr Toma has been practicing in southeast Michigan since 2008.  He has published articles in the field of Otolaryngology.  Dr Toma has privileges at multiple hospitals and surgical centers including Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center, Oakwood Annapolis Hospital, Garden City Hospital, and Great Lakes Surgical Center.

Dr. Toma completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Albany Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in which he graduated with a Distinction in Biomedical Research. He received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University.

Dr. Toma is well published and has given numerous presentations at national conferences in the field of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Tania Caballero
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Education

Tania has completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. She received her Master’s of Science in Nursing and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

Professional Background

Tania has been practicing as a nurse since 2003. She has extensive experience in hematology/oncology and caring for critically ill patients. Her background as a nursing clinical professor has allowed for the development of case management and diverse patient education techniques. Her training includes clinical practicums in General Surgery at St. John Macomb, Pulmonary ICU at St. John Oakland, and the Lymphoma Clinic of Michigan.

Interests

She is passionate about otolaryngology and the broad spectrum of diagnosis it encompasses. She enjoys working with children and adults alike. She is fluent in Spanish and her interests include pediatric sleep apnea, recurring ear infections, chronic tonsillitis, snoring, and hearing loss. She has a holistic approach to her practice and believes that a caring environment is one that offers the development of well being while allowing the person to choose the best action for himself or herself at a given point in time. Her care emphasizes the humanistic aspects of nursing in combination with scientific knowledge.

Tania Caballero is credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Centre. She is a member of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Oncology Nursing Society, and The American Academy of Otolaryngologic Allergy. She is certified in Basic Life Support,Advanced Cardiac Life Support and has a Chemo Therapy Certification.

Tania holds staff privileges at Oakwood Hospital Medical Center and Garden City Hospital.
